  1. Surah Al-Anbiya (Chapter 21)
  2. Surah Al-Hajj (Chapter 22)
  3. Surah Al-Mu’minun (Chapter 23

Surah Al Anbiya

The central theme of Surat Al-Anbiya is the concept of Prophethood and the lives of the prophets, as suggested by the title itself. All prophets were ordinary human beings who faced hardships inflicted by their adversaries. They also underwent tests from Allah, yet they consistently relied on Him and adhered to His commandments. These prophets were devoted to prayer and worship, and Allah responded to their supplications.

The conclusion of the surah paints a beautiful picture of Paradise and the joy experienced by the believers. The highlight verse of the surah, “We have sent you as a mercy to all the worlds” (verse 107), serves as a remarkable tribute to the noble Messenger ﷺ. It wonderfully uplifts the morale of the beloved Muhammad ﷺ, showcasing Allah’s profound support and appreciation.

Surah Al-Hajj

Surah Al-Hajj reminds us that the end of the world is coming soon. It highlights the importance of having strong faith to support what is right and oppose what is wrong. The surah also talks about the significance of prayers, humility, and sacrifices, as well as showing respect for the Kaaba (Allah’s house in Mecca) and striving to stand up for the truth.

The surah offers reassurance to the beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, promising him eventual success and advising him not to be disheartened by challenges. It provides examples of past prophets whose stories demonstrate the eventual triumph of truth over falsehood. The surah concludes by outlining the path to salvation and how to avoid the fear of Judgment Day, as vividly described at the beginning of the surah. The message is to believers: “Submit, prostrate, and worship your Lord faithfully to attain success. Strive diligently for the sake of Allah as you should.”

Surah Mu’minun

Similar to other Surahs revealed in Mecca, Surah Al Mu’minun underscores the importance of monotheism (belief in the Oneness of God) and the role of Prophethood. It highlights God’s greatness manifested in the natural marvels of creation. And also the numerous signs evident in the world and within human beings themselves. The Surah Muminun also reflects on the various stages of human creation to affirm the certainty of the hereafter.
