ISLAMABAD – Pakistan’s central moon sighting committee, Central Ruet-e-Hilal, is set to convene on Friday, June 7, to observe the Zil hajj moon for Eid ul Adha 2024.
Eid ul Adha is a major event celebrated throughout the Muslim world, commemorating Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son Ismail in obedience to Allah. This festival, also known as Bakra Eid and the Greater Eid, highlights the values of obedience and devotion to Allah.
This year, Eid ul Adha probably will be observed on June 16, 2024 (10 Dhu al-Hijjah) in Saudi Arabia and the Arab region.
Eid al-Adha will begin on the evening of Sunday, June 17, 2024, and conclude on thursday, June 20, 2024.
According to the 2024 holiday calendar, Eid ul Fitr will be observed from June 17 to 19. However, since most government offices are closed on Saturdays and Sundays, the holidays will effectively begin on June 15.
