Pakistan’s Central Moon Sighting Committee to Meet for Eid Crescent

State media reported that Pakistan’s central moon sighting committee will convene today 09-04 2024, Tuesday, in Islamabad to observe the Shawwal crescent. It signifies the conclusion of Ramadan and the commencement of Eid Ul-Fitr festivities.

“Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Convenes in Islamabad to Sight Shawwal 1445 Moon”

The chairman of the central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, Maulana Syed Muhammad Abdul Khabir Azad, will preside over the committee’s meeting. Meetings of the RHC’s zonal committees will take place at their respective locations in the provincial capitals, according to Pakistan’s Ministry of Religious Affairs.

Today, in Islamabad, the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will convene under the chairmanship of Maulana Syed Muhammad Abdul Khabir Azad to sight the Shawwal 1445 Eid crescent.Delegates from Pakistan’s Ministry of Science and Technology, Meteorological Department, Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission, along with representatives from other institutions, will participate in the meeting.

Moreover,in Pakistan, the RHC is responsible for visually observing the moon to determine the start of new Islamic months. It also confirms the dates for Ramadan and Eid festivals. Which are based on reports of crescent sightings from various regions across the country.

“Pakistan Government Announces April Holiday Schedule”

On Thursday, the Pakistani government declared a three-day holiday from April 10th to 12th for offices with a five-day workweek. And a four-day holiday from April 10th to 13th for offices operating on a six-day workweek.

”Eid-ul-Fitr in Saudi Arabia”

On Monday evening, Ramadan 29, Saudi Arabia’s Supreme Court announced that the Shawwal crescent had not been sighted in the kingdom. Consequently, Tuesday will mark the final day of the holy month, with Eid Ul-Fitr celebrations scheduled to commence on Wednesday, April 10, throughout the Kingdom.
