Ghafir (Arabic: غافر) is the 40^th chapter of the Holy Quran. It consists of 9 Rukus, 85 verses, 1226 words, and 5108 letters. This surah was revealed in Makkah, and it opens Muqatta’s letters حم. This chapter of the Quran is located in the 24^th para (Juz), and surah ghafir meaning is The Forgiver.The surah takes its name from the 28^th verse. Surat Al Ghafir, also known as Al-Mumin Surah, means The Believer. Disbelievers who continue to dispute Allah’s revelations face a fate akin to that of past nations. In the Hereafter, their torment will worsen. When they finally repent, it will be too late. Surah Ghafir full describes that disbelievers who continue to dispute Allah’s revelations face a fate akin to that of past nations. In the Hereafter, their torment will worsen. Surah Ghafir summary

1. The angels who uphold the throne of Allah offer prayers for those who repent and follow the righteous path.
2. A depiction of the Day of Judgment.
3. Allah knows the furtive looks and secret thoughts.
4. The story of Prophet Hazrat Musa, Pharaoh, Haman and Qarun.
5. A remarkable discourse by one of Pharaoh’s relatives in support of Prophet Musa.
6. Pharaoh conspired against the believing relative, yet Allah protected him and obliterated Pharaoh’s people. Now, they face the flames of Hell every morning and evening.
7. Command of Pharaoh to Haman to construct a tower to reach the heavens in order to look the God of Moses.
8. Allah states, “Invoke Me, and I will respond to your prayers.”
9. None deserves worship except Allah, the Creator and Sustainer of the universe.
10. Those who dispute the signs of Allah will soon come to know the truth.
11. Allah has sent various messengers before Muhammad (PBUH), some of whom are mentioned in the Qur’an while others are not.
12. It is not beneficial for the unbelievers to believe after seeing the punishment of Allah

Surah Ghafir benefits

Following are the virtues and benefits of reciting surah al ghafir:

• The Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) said, “Surahs beginning with Ha-Meem are like beautiful, fresh, fragrant, splendid meadows. If anyone wishes to stroll through the gardens of Paradise, they should recite these chaptersIbn Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him) stated, “The Ha-Meems (included Surah Momin) are like the adornments of the Quran.”
• Narrated Khaleel ibn Murrah: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “There are seven Ha-Meem surahs, and there are seven gates of Hell. Each Ha-Meem surah will come and stand at one of these gates, saying, ‘O Allah, do not allow anyone who believed in me and recited me to enter through this gate.’(Included seven  Surahs (40-46)  Surat Ghafir, Surah Fussilat, Surah Ash-Shura, Surah Az-Zukhruf , Ad-Dukhan Surat, Al-Jathiyah Surat, Al-Ahqaf Surat).
• Besides, Ibn `Abbas,(RA) with him, said, “Every book has its essence, and for the Qur’an, it’s the Ha Mim family.”
• Reported by Al-Muhallab ibn Abu Sufrah, a man who heard the Prophet (peace be upon him), saying: “If the enemy attacks you at night, let your battle cry be ‘Ha-Mim (Surat Momin). They will not be helped.'”
• Abu Hurairah reported that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: “Whoever recites Ha Mim Al-Mumin (Surah Ghafir, 40:1-3) and Ayat Al-Kursi in the morning, he will be safeguarded by them until the evening. And whoever recites them in the evening, he will be safeguarded by them until the morning.”

Surah Ghafir ayat 44 benefits

Surah al Ghafir ayat 44 emphasizes the importance of remembering Allah’s guidance and promises, entrusting one’s affairs to Him, and acknowledging His omniscience as He observes His servants.

فَسَتَذْكُرُوْنَ مَاۤ اَقُوْلُ لَكُمْؕ-وَ اُفَوِّضُ اَمْرِیْۤ اِلَى اللّٰهِؕ-اِنَّ اللّٰهَ بَصِیْرٌۢ بِالْعِبَادِ(44)

وَ قَالَ رَبُّكُمُ ادْعُوْنِیْۤ اَسْتَجِبْ لَكُمْؕ-اِنَّ الَّذِیْنَ یَسْتَكْبِرُوْنَ عَنْ عِبَادَتِیْ سَیَدْخُلُوْنَ جَهَنَّمَ دٰخِرِیْنَ(60)
