Surah Talaq ayat 2 and 3 english translation
Then when they have ˹almost˺ reached the end of their waiting period, either retain them honourably or separate from them honourably.1 And call two of your reliable men to witness ˹either way˺—and ˹let the witnesses˺ bear true testimony for ˹the sake of˺ Allah. This is enjoined on whoever has faith in Allah and the Last Day. And whoever is mindful of Allah, He will make a way out for them,(٢)
and provide for them from sources they could never imagine. whoever puts their trust in Allah, then He ˹alone˺ is sufficient for them. Certainly Allah achieves His Will. Allah has already set a destiny for everything. (٣)
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his household) is reported to have said, “I am not aware of any other verse that, if adhered to, would resolve all of humanity’s problems.” He then recited the verse.
Whoever is wary of Allah, He shall make for him a way out [of the adversities of the world and the Hereafter]
It’s recounted that upon the revelation of verse three, certain companions of the Prophet ceased their work and trade, convinced that since God assured their sustenance, laboring was unnecessary. However, the Prophet summoned and cautioned them, affirming that those who forsake work and exertion will find their prayers unanswered.
