At taghabun surah ( Arabic: التغابن, “Loss, Deprivation“)  the name taken from the verse 9 where there is the mention of the word ”Tghabun”. However, this name does not necessarily reflect the main topic of the entire surah. It serves primarily as a reference or a marker to distinguish this surah from others, much like the names of most other surahs in the Quran. Basically the surah itself covers a variety of topics. It is the 64th surah of Quran and it contains 18 verses and 2 rukus.

Surah At Taghabun ayat 9

يَوۡمَ يَجۡمَعُكُمۡ لِيَوۡمِ الۡجَمۡعِ‌ ذٰلِكَ يَوۡمُ التَّغَابُنِ‌ؕ وَمَنۡ يُّؤۡمِنۡۢ بِاللّٰهِ وَيَعۡمَلۡ صَالِحًـا يُّكَفِّرۡ عَنۡهُ سَيِّاٰتِهٖ وَيُدۡخِلۡهُ جَنّٰتٍ تَجۡرِىۡ مِنۡ تَحۡتِهَا الۡاَنۡهٰرُ خٰلِدِيۡنَ فِيۡهَاۤ اَبَدًا‌ؕ ذٰلِكَ الۡفَوۡزُ الۡعَظِیْمُ‏ ﴿۹﴾

Theme of Surah Al Taghabun

The central theme of this Surah is an invitation to embrace faith and obedience to Allah, along with the promotion of good morals. The structure of the Surah is as follows: the first four verses are directed at all people; verses 5-10 address those who reject the Qur’an’s message; and verses 11-18 are aimed at those who accept and believe in its invitation.

Everything belongs to God. Among you are both disbelievers and believers. God created everything with purpose and truth, and He fashioned you in the best forms. Some doubt the resurrection, but you will surely be raised by your Lord. The Day of Taghabun is the day of assembly where losses and gains will be revealed. No calamity or disaster occurs except by the permission of Allah. Sometimes, wives and children can become a trial and test for you. If you give a loan to Allah, He will return it multiplied.
