As Safaat is the 37th chapter of the Quran. This Makki surah consists of 5 Rukus, 182 verses, 865 words, and 3899 letters. The Surah derives its name from its opening verse. In this verse an oath is taken by the Saffat, a cohort of angels appointed to carry out Allah’s command. Surah as Saffat meaning is Those who rank themselves in Order. Surat As Safaat is the first surah of the Quran, which starts with an oath. It is located in 23rd para (juz) of the Quran. Like many other Meccan Suras, this Surah centers on themes of creation and resurrection, with a significant portion of its verses delivering warnings and admonitions.

Surah As Saffat benefits

Following are the virtues and benefits of reciting Quran Surah Saffat:

  • Imam Sadiq (as) stated:

“Anyone who recites As Saffat Surah every Friday will be safeguarded from all impurities and illnesses. His worldly life will be purified, and Allah will bless them with abundant sustenance. He, along with his children and body, will be protected from the harms of Satan and arrogant adversaries.”

  • If someone passes away on that day or night after reciting Surah As-Saffat, Allah will grant them martyrdom and elevate them among the ranks of martyrs in Paradise.
  • Besides,The surah helps us to understand the concept of Tawhid,which is the central to Islamic faith and provides numerous spiritual, ethical, and psychological benefits to believers.
  • The story of Prophet Abraham demonstrates his strong belief when he was ready to sacrifice his son because God told him to. Stories like this teach us to stay strong, have faith, and trust in God’s wisdom, even when things seem really tough.
  • Moreover, the Surah describes Judgment Day and urges believers to lead righteous lives.
  • Surah as Saffat ayat 47 describes that people drink wine because it makes them feel good, even though it can have bad effects. Allah promises that in heaven, the drinks will be just as enjoyable, but without any of the harmful effects that come with wordly wine.

لَا فِیْهَا غَوْلٌ وَّ لَا هُمْ عَنْهَا یُنْزَفُوْنَ(47)

The Prophet (PBUH) said to Sahaba :

“Shall I not inform you of some words? If distress or grief befalls any of you, and he makes this supplication, it will bring him joy. It is the supplication of Dhul-Noon (Jonah): ‘There is no deity except You; exalted are You. Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers.’

لااِلٰہ اِلّا اَنتَ سُبحانکَ اِنّی کُنتُ مِنَ الظّالِمین

Hazrat Sa’ad bin Abi Waqqas recounted that the Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) stated:

The Prophet further added, ‘So whoever invokes with these words for anything, Allah Almighty responds to him.’
