Surah as saff is the 61st surah of the Quran Pak and is located in juz / paara 28. The Surah As-Saff is named after the phrase “yuqatiluna fi sabil-i-hisaff-an” in verse 4, indicating that it is a Surah where the word “saff” is mentioned. Surah consist of total 14 Ayats and the “As-Saff” in Arabic, which translates to “The Ranks” in English.

The Surah opens with praising Allah and emphasizes the importance of Muslims strengthening their faith and reliance on God. It urges them to steadfastly uphold the truth, emphasizing the willingness to face any challenges in its defense. The Surah encourages believers to strive and fight for the cause of Allah, drawing lessons from the struggles of Prophet Moses and Jesus, and their appeals to their respective communities. Finally, it concludes with a promise of victory and the ultimate triumph of God’s religion.
Surah Saff is the 61st surah of the Quran, consisting of 14 verses, 226 words, and 966 letters. Revealed to Prophet Muhammad (s) in Medina, it is the 111th surah in chronological order of revelation. The surah addresses several themes: it begins by glorifying and sanctifying Allah, criticizes those who do not align their speech with their actions, foretells the ultimate triumph of Allah’s religion globally despite opposition, and urges believers to strive (jihad) with their souls and wealth.
The Prophet (s) has said, “Whoever recites the surah of Prophet Isa (Surah Saff), Prophet Isa will greet him so long as he is alive and will ask Allah to forgive them, and they shall be the companion and friend of Prophet Isa (a) on the Day of Qiyamah.
Imam al-Baqir has said that whoever always recites Surah Saff in his obligatory and supererogatory prayers, Allah will place him in the ranks of the angels and prophets.
