Surh Nahl (Aabic text: الْنَّحْل) is the 16^th surah of Quran Pak. The surat takes its name ‘’Nahl’’ from ayat 68–69, which means the honeybee. It is located in Para/Juz 14^th in the Holy Quran and contains 128 verses and 16 rukus. The sureh was revealed to Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) during the last period of his residence at the Holy city of Makkah. This surat is also known as the chapter of blessings. In the time of ignorance, the disbelievers, for various reasons used to bury their daughters. This surat condemned burying their daughters alive. Furthermore it describes the reality of idols.

Main theme of surah An Nahl

All the topics of Surah revolve around the concept of tawhid and warning to those who seek punishment and Glory of God. The surat an nahal presents the proof of tauhid, a refutation of shirk. It offers an advisory about what happens if one continues to follow the wrong path. The surat also offers moral adaptations that are essential to daily living. It reminded the mushrikin that their professed religion in Allah required more than just lip service; it required demonstration of the belief in a moral and practical way of life. Lastly the sureh concludes by advising the Prophet on how to respond to opposition and persecution from non-believers.

There are 10 main points in Surah Nahl

1. The order to give public invitation to Islam.
2. Mention of man’s ungratefulness.
3. The end of those who tell false stories to the Holy Quran.
4. The end of previous disobedient.
5. Not all people will be blessed with guidance.
6. Avoid breaking promises and using oaths as a tool for mutual deception and corruption.
7. Furthermore this surah describes the the reality of idols.
8. Allah is aware of the visible and hidden things.
9. There are two main reasons for being raised after death:  Obviously it is so easy for Allah to bring everything into existence, so why is it difficult to take it up after death?
10. Behavior of Angels to the Pious at Death: In the Hereafter or when the soul leaves, it will be said to the pious that you will enter Paradise in return for your deeds.

(An Nahl:69) ثُمَّ كُلِي مِن كُلِّ ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ فَٱسۡلُكِي سُبُلَ رَبِّكِ ذُلُلٗاۚ يَخۡرُجُ مِنۢ بُطُونِهَا شَرَابٞ مُّخۡتَلِفٌ أَلۡوَٰنُهُۥ فِيهِ شِفَآءٞ لِّلنَّاسِۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَةٗ لِّقَوۡمٖ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ

Allah Almighty gave his attribute to a small and weak bee that it may obtain soft and smooth ingredients from different kinds of flowers and fruits, which made such an exquisite and very good honey.

Benefits and virtues of recitation of Surah an Nahl

Following are the virtues and benefits of surah Nahl

• Sura e Nahl has a soothing effect on the hearts, and Muslims recites it for its spiritual healing properties.
• Verses of the sureh an nahal strengthen the believe and it reminds the creative power and wisdom of Allah.
• If someone recites Surah Nahl in this manner, they will not have to account for the blessings that Allah has bestowed upon them. Additionally, if they pass away on the same day that they recite this surah, they will receive the recompense of a person who passes away after leaving a will that covers their legally acquired property and money.
• Imam Ja’far as-Sadiq (a.s.) has said that whoever recites Surah an-Nahl once every month, he will be safe from 70 types of several diseases and will be from among the inhabitants of Jannah.
