Surah al Qalam (Arabic text: القلم) meanings in English ‘’The Pen’’ It is the 68^th chapter of the Holy Quran. Surat Qalam has another name , known as Surat Nun.  Surah Noon consist of total 52 ayats. The name of the chapters is derived from the first verse, where the word ”Qalam” is mentioned. (ن ۚ وَالْقَلَمِ وَمَا يَسْطُرُونَ)

The name of the chapter is derived from the first verse, where the word “Qalam” is mentioned. But it does not mean that this is the actual topics and the whole surah is about this topic. Surah al Noon is one of the earliest surah revealed in Makkah at the time when opposition to the Prophet( P.B.U.H) had grown very harsh.

Surah Qalam Last 2 Ayat  

وَإِنْ يَكَادُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لَيُزْلِقُونَكَ بِأَبْصَارِهِمْ لَمَّا سَمِعُوا الذِّكْرَ وَيَقُولُونَ إِنَّهُ لَمَجْنُونٌ ﴿51﴾ وَمَا هُوَ إِلَّا ذِكْرٌ لِلْعَالَمِينَ ﴿52

1. Wa iny-yakaadul lazeena kafaroo la-yuzliqoonaka biabsaarihim lammaa sami’uz-Zikra wa yaqooloona innahoo lamajnoon
2. Wa maa huwa illaa zikrul lil’aalameen

And indeed, those who disbelieve would almost make you slip with their eyes when they hear the message, and they say, “Indeed, he is mad.”

and it is not, but an admonition for the worlds.
