Surah Alam Nashrah (أَلَمْ نَشْرَحْ) in English  meaning ‘’the Opening up’’ also known as Surah Al-Inshirah or Surah Al-Sharh, stands as one of the briefest chapters in the Quran, comprising only eight verses. Surat Alam nashrah is found in para 30th of the Quran. It is the 94th surah of Quran. It is revealed in Makkah after the revelation of Surah al-Dhuha.

Surah Ash-Sharh primarily conveys the elevated status of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) in the eyes of Allah SWT. Within this context, Allah comforts His believers through two reiterated verses. Furthermore, Allah invites His servants to draw closer to Him.

Surah Inshirah Arabic Text

  

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ

اَلَمْ نَشْرَحْ لَكَ صَدْرَكَ(1) وَ وَضَعْنَا عَنْكَ وِزْرَكَ(2) الَّذِیْۤ اَنْقَضَ ظَهْرَكَ(3) وَ رَفَعْنَا لَكَ ذِكْرَكَﭤ(4) فَاِنَّ مَعَ الْعُسْرِ یُسْرًا(5) اِنَّ مَعَ الْعُسْرِ یُسْرًاﭤ(6) فَاِذَا فَرَغْتَ فَانْصَبْ(7) وَ اِلٰى رَبِّكَ فَارْغَبْ(8)

Surah al inshira in English translation

Did We not open your breast for you

and relieve you of your burden

Which [almost] broke your back?

 Did We not exalt your name?

Indeed ease accompanies hardship.

Indeed ease accompanies hardship.

So when you are done, appoint,

and turn eagerly to your Lord.
