Surah al Fil {Arabic: الفيل} is the 105^th chapter of the Quran and located in 30th para (juz). Surat al-Fil is a Makki sura, and it contains 5 verses, 23 words, and 96 letters. The meaning of sureh is The Elephant. This Sureh, as its name suggests, connects to the renowned historical incident that took place in the year of the Holy Prophet’s birth, in which Allah defended the Ka’aba from the attack of an army of pagans that had come from Yemen on the backs of elephants with the intention of destroying it. Its commemoration serves as a warning to the haughty, conceited pagans, warning them that they are powerless to thwart Allah’s Might, Who destroyed the vast army of elephants by showering them with ” ‘little stones of petrified clay’ that were thrown at them by minuscule, tiny birds.

Theme

Surat al feel two main subjects and themes are:

Surat Feel is an illustration of how Allah can send an aflock of birds to destroy a 60,000-strong army using elephants and preserve His house, the Ka’bah.
Reminder of Allah’s All-Powerful Presence.And Who has the authority to punish these oppressors who refuse to bow down.

Benefits of Surah al Feel

Following are the virtues and rewards of reciting Surah al-Fil:

Hazrat imam Sadiq states that “Any level land, mountains, or lumps of dirt will bear witness for the reciter of Sura Feel, on the final day of Judgement, that he has been among the prayerful (believers) who recite Surah Fil in his obligatory prayers.” then Allah will say, “You are correct about My servant; I accept your testimony for him’’ let him enter into Paradise without questioning him.He is the one that I like, for sure, and I like his acts.”
There are two benefits to reciting Surat Fil and Surah Quraysh together. Firstly, it highlights how the chapters of the Quran are interrelated, with each Surah building upon and complementing the previous one.
Secondly, it emphasizes how important it is to follow religious precepts.
Moreover,reciting Surah Fil keeps you safe from harm caused by foes. This surah will help you resolve any conflict you may have with the opponent.
Al-Albani (R.A.) states that “In the Fajr prayer, whoever recites Surah Al-Inshirah and Surat Al-Feel will never become blind.”
Besides,Surat Al-Feel recitation protects us from poisoned food.
The recitation of this sureh is also helpful in order to get safety from a cruel ruler.

Surah al Fil Arabic text

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ

اَلَمْ تَرَ كَیْفَ فَعَلَ رَبُّكَ بِاَصْحٰبِ الْفِیْلِؕ (1) اَلَمْ یَجْعَلْ كَیْدَهُمْ فِیْ تَضْلِیْلٍۙ (2) وَّاَرْسَلَ عَلَیْهِمْ طَیْرًا اَبَابِیْلَۙ (3) تَرْمِیْهِمْ بِحِجَارَةٍ مِّنْ سِجِّیْلٍﭪ (4) فَجَعَلَهُمْ كَعَصْفٍ مَّاْكُوْلٍ۠ (5)

Surah Feel English translation

”Have you not viewed (O Muhammad) How did your Lord treat the elephant’s companions? Did He not turn their strategy into a misguidance? And He sent out flocks of birds against them,that lobbed hard clay stones at them, And He transformed them into eaten straw”.

Surah al Fil Urdu translation

کیا تو نے نہ دیکھا کہ تیرے رب نے ہاتھی والوں کے ساتھ سلوک کیا ؟ کیا ان کے چالوں کو بےکار نہیں کردیا؟ اور ان پر پرندوں کے جھنڈ کے جھنڈ بھیج دیئے جو انہیں مٹی اور پتھر کی کنکریاں مار رہے تھے- پس انہیں کھائے ہوئے بھوسے کی طرح کردیا
